Community sails are based in various communities in Massachusetts, including Boston, Bourne, Duxbury, Hyannis, Nantucket, Newburyport, and Provincetown, with open houses , dockside programs for elementary school kids, day-long programs for middle school students and 5-7 days voyages for middle and high school students. All of these programs are designed to promote awareness and stewardship of the marine ecosystem and involve program partners in each community

In addition, the curricula for Community Days school programs have been designed to align with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for History and/or Social Sciences, or Science and Technology and Engineering.
