Beach Cleanup at Herring Cove April 22 Earth Day 2005 Event Sponsored by Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies
(Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA) - Throw on your old clothing and sneakers and break out those garden gloves to help the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies (PCCS) spruce up Herring Cove Beach on Friday, April 22, from 1 to 4 p.m., to commemorate Earth Day 2005.
The first Earth Day in 1970 saw an estimated 20 million Americans take part in "Earth Day activities which sparked the national movement of consciousness about the environment, as well as the protection of natural resources, a key element of the Center's mission statement.
Free T-shirts go to the first twenty people to sign up to help with the Beach Cleanup, and volunteers receive free refreshments.
