New Directors Elected to PCCS Board Panel of Advisors Appointed
(Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA) - At its April 15 Annual Meeting in Chatham, members of the Board of Directors at the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies (PCCS) elected five new members.
The new 'Class of '06':
- Retired Banker Peter Deeks of East Orleans, a trustee of Orleans Conservation Trust;
- Philanthropist Carol Green, Truro, president of the Phillips-Green Family Foundation;
- Brian Larkin of Providence, Rhode Island, director of the Grace W. Allsop Foundation;
- Thomas Niles of Cambridge, Senior Advisor with Boston Residential Group;
- Provincetown Selectman Sarah Peake.
Two other current board members, Robert Ross, Ed.D., vice president of Academic and Student Affairs at Cape Cod Community College, Richard N. Miller of North Chatham, owner of Market Response International, a marketing firm, were elected for second, three-year terms. Dr. Ross has assumed the position of board Chair. Outgoing Chair John Burman of Cataumet, vice president of Kingman Yacht Center Inc., will serve on the board for another year.

New Advisors to PCCS include the most recent former directors: Armando Carbonell of Barnstable, John Whelan of Chatham, Mary Jane Gibson of Eastham, and Susan Nickerson of Cummaquid. Peter Baker, political director of the Cape Cod Commercial Hook Fisherman's Association, and Sandy McFarlane, an author and environmental activist, were elected as Advisors for three-year terms ending in 2009.
The PCCS Annual Board of Directors Meeting was held at Chatham Wayside Inn on Saturday, April 15. Board meetings are held quarterly.

The Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies was founded in 1976 and is dedicated to researching and protecting marine mammals and marine ecosystems in the Gulf of Maine through research, conservation and public education programs.
