(Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA) - At its recent Annual Meeting, the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies' (PCCS) Board of Directors elected two new members and appointed a panel of Advisors.
Alix Ritchie, owner and publisher of the Provincetown Banner, and Barbara Birdsey, founder and president of the Pegasus Foundation, begin three-year terms at PCCS, a private, non-profit institution founded in 1976 and dedicated to marine science, and preservation of the marine coastal environment, through education, scientific research and conservation. Ms. Ritchie was a driving force behind the formation of the Cape Cod Commission, a planning and regulatory agency, and is an award-winning journalist. Mrs. Birdsey's foundation is committed to animal protection, environmental preservation and public education.
