PCCS Sponsors Annual Homeport Banquet Nov. 9
Proceeds benefit Fellowship for Women in Science

(Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA) - The Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies (PCCS) will host its second annual Homeport Banquet on Thursday, November 9 at Napi's Restaurant in Provincetown.

Proceeds will benefit the Ruth Hiebert Memorial Fellowship, a scholarship awarded to women pursuing studies in marine science. The Fellowship was established in honor of the late Ruth Hiebert, a longtime supporter of the Center and local philanthropist. Tickets are $50 per person. The event - which begins at 6 p.m. - will include a silent auction.

The Homeport Banquet brings the Outer Cape community together to celebrate scholarship, science, and philanthropy. The idea for the annual banquet was borne of the Center's ever-popular "trash fish" dinners of yesteryear to popularize fish species formerly thought of as bycatch, including monkfish and hake. Beginning last year, PCCS rekindled this annual, informal and community-based event, to which all are welcome. Non-members of PCCS will receive a special discounted membership at the dinner.

For more information about the Homeport Banquet to benefit the Hiebert scholarship fund, please call PCCS at 508.487.3622 ext. 104.
